A pregnant woman who was admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute after sustaining burns in the explosion from a gas line in Narayanganj Fatulla died after giving birth to a boy on Thursday morning.
The victim, Kulsum Begum, 25, was admitted to the hospital on March 12 evening. On March 13, she gave birth to a boy through caesarean surgery. She died after 11 days of treatment.

SM Ayub Hossain, resident surgeon of the burn institute, said that Kulsum suffered 28% burns.
The child has been kept in the paediatric intensive care unit of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), he added.
Kulsum and her three-year-old son Khalid were burnt in an explosion from a gas line in Narayanganj Fatulla on March 12, 2023 evening.
The incident took place at around 6:30pm on the sixth floor of a building named MS Tower.
