Bangladesh's leading private airline Novoair is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Monday.
The airline is committed to ensuring safety with the addition of more aircraft, expanding domestic and international destinations, consistent with the passengers' needs, said Mofizur Rahman, Novoair managing director at a program in Dhaka.
With its maiden flight on January 9, 2013, from Dhaka to Chittagong, Novoair operated over 100,000 domestic and international flights while carrying over 5.5 million passengers, said the airliner.
Currently, Novoair is operating flights from Dhaka on domestic routes to Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Sylhet, Jessore, Syedpur, Rajshahi and international routes to Kolkata.
Besides, it is transporting passengers directly from Jessore to Cox's Bazar route and from Rajshahi to Cox's Bazar route.
Initially, the fleet operated with three state-of-the-art 89-seat Embraer 145 aircraft. From 2016 to 2019, 7 aircraft of the 72-seat ATR 72-500 model were added to the fleet. All were private aircraft. Embraer 145 model aircraft were phased out. Currently, there are 7 aircraft in the fleet giving state-of-the-art facilities to passengers.

Besides, Novoair-MTB co-branded credit card is the first in the country's aviation industry that allows cardholders to enjoy exclusive benefits.
The aim of Novoair is to strengthen its position in the sector with skilled manpower and a more sophisticated fleet.
Novoair was named Best Domestic Airlines in 2014, Best Domestic Airlines in 2019, and Best On time Performance Airlines in 2021 by Bangladesh Monitor.
Apart from passenger transport, Novoair has also conducted various social activities including cricket, football, golf, surfing, distribution of medicine among the flood victims and air travel to underprivileged children.
