The government will initiate measures to vaccinate children under the age of 12 against the coronavirus if the World Health Organization (WHO) approves, says Health Minister Zahid Maleque.
His remark came on Tuesday while speaking to reporters about the upcoming mega inoculation drive from February 26.
As schools have been reopened, the primary school students will also get the chance to get vaccinated soon, said the minister.
The health minister said that they have provided first dose to over 61% of the population and second dose to 46%. "We want to achieve vaccinating 70% of the total population and so, 10 million people would be vaccinated in a single day on February 26.
“Some 16,000 temporary camps would be set up at rural areas across the country while 8,500 temporary camp would be set up in urban (municipalities and cities) areas in this connection,” he added.
