The High Court has discharged a man, who was wrongfully prosecuted in a fraud case based on an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman on Thursday passed the order and directed the ACC to begin a fresh probe in the case.
The court also ordered the commission to take action against the investigators for charging the wrong person with the crime, according to media reports.

In 2003, the ACC accused a man named Md Kamrul Islam of using a fake SSC certificate to get admission in a college in 1998.
Following a probe, the commission pressed charges against Kamrul in 2013. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2014.
The High Court scrapped his sentence following a petition filed by Kamrul’s lawyers.
Kamrul’s lawyer Minhazul Haque Chowdhury told the court that the ACC investigation officer was solely responsible for the wrong investigation and prosecution of Kamrul.
He added that the ACC had been trying to deflect responsibility to the trial court as it had earlier done in the case of Jahalam.
