Demand for nationalization of all MPO and Non-MPO educational institutions

Bangladesh Teachers Association and MPO-affiliated educational institution liaison forum has demanded the nationalization of all  MPO and Non-MPO educational institutions in the forthcoming budget.

The two organizations have jointly sent a letter to Education Minister Dipu Moni and the President of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Education, Afsarul Amin, and several members of parliament.

They have demanded 100% instead of 25% Eid bonus, said a statement.

They also demanded that the budget should be allocated for house rent and medical allowances as per government rules instead of TK1000 for house rent and Tk500 for medical allowances.

They pointed out that teachers were promised to be included in higher grade positions instead of the time scale system, which allowed teachers to get some facilities and perks after a certain number of years on the job, but no initiative has been taken to materialize that even after passage of five years.

They also said that no allowance is provided during the transfer of MPO registered teachers unlike other government jobs.

The MPO enrolment process is also not a good process and teachers are being harassed everywhere in the name of recruitment.

Considering the circumstances, the teachers demanded nationalization for all non-MPO and all MPO registered educational institutions in the upcoming budget.
