Coronavirus: 5 Bangladeshis being treated in Singapore

Five Bangladesh nationals infected by coronavirus are being treated in Singapore and one of them stated to be in critical condition, Singaporean Foreign Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan informed his Bangladeshi counterpart Dr AK Abdul Momen over the telephone on Wednesday.

The critically ill patient, who was suffering from pneumonia and kidney problems before being infected by Covid-19, has been kept in the intensive care unit (ICU) for the last 13 days, said the Singaporean foreign minister.

He also gave assurance that the government of Singapore has taken appropriate measures to treat the affected Bangladeshis and the authorities concerned are being very careful so that more Bangladeshis are not infected by the virus.

Dr Momen informed Dr Balakrishnan that Bangladesh has confidence in the treatment and initiatives taken by Singapore.
