Man hospitalized in Dhaka for suspected coronavirus infection

A Bangladeshi citizen returning from China, suspected to be infected with the coronavirus, has been admitted to Kurmitola General Hospital.

The thermal scanners at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) detected high temperature on the passenger who returned home on Wednesday night.

Dr Shahriar Sazzad, an official at the Airport Health Centre, said that the passenger was sent to the hospital on Thursday morning after collecting his blood sample.

When the passenger, a student at a Chinese institute, arrived at the airport, his body temperature was 100.6°F, said Dr Shahriar.

"He has been suffering from fever for three days. After examination at the hospital, it can be ascertained whether the young man has a health problem," he said.
