Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted light to moderate rain at many places over the country in the next 24 hours.
The prediction has been made for a period starting on Thursday and ending at 9am on Friday.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions and at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met office bulletin issued on Thursday.
“Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and is strong over North Bay”, the bulletin added.
However, the day and night temperature may fall by 1-3 °C over the country due to the rainfall.
The maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 36.5°C at Sylhet, while Thursday’s minimum temperature was 24.5 degrees Celsius at Hatiya in Chittagong division.
The sun should set at 6:38pm on Thursday and rise at 5:31am on Friday in Dhaka.
