Quota reform protest: JnU VC orders authorities to make list of injured students

'I have instructed the proctor to make a list of the injured students of our university'

Jagannath University (JnU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Sadeka Halim has directed the authorities to help all the students who were injured in the quota reform movement.

On Thursday, Vice-chancellor Sadeka Halim said: "I have instructed the proctor to make a list of the injured students of our university. We can help them if we get a list of students who have left the hospital with first aid.”

VC Sadeka Halim also said four of the five students who underwent treatment at DMCH after receiving gunshot wounds have been released, while one student, Anik, has been transferred to a cabin.”

Proctor of the Jagannath University Dr Md Jahangir Hossain said: “We have already found out that around nine students were injured. I quickly sent money to those who needed it. Our list goes on.”

Meanwhile, five students of Jagannath University were shot on July 17 in the violence centring the quota reform movement.

Besides, on Friday a student of the mathematics department of the university, Ahsan Habib Tamim, died at Mirpur Gol Chattar.

He was buried at his home on Saturday. His village home is in Noakhali's Chatkhil upazila. His father's name is Mohammad Ali Ahmed.
