Amid the ongoing crackdown on corruption, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said that her government remains steadfast in its commitment to combat corruption.

"Once I initiate action, I do not back down. I will take action wherever and against whoever is involved. When I say zero tolerance, I mean it. Previously, I declared zero tolerance against militancy and followed through. Now, my stance is zero tolerance against corruption, and this effort will persist," said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during a press conference at Ganabhaban on Sunday afternoon.

Addressing the recent allegations of question leaks at the Public Service Commission (PSC), the prime minister said: "We are taking stringent actions, which is why culprits are being identified and apprehended. No previous administration took such actions against them."

Highlighting an incident during the BNP regime, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina said: "Back in 2002 or 2003, during the 24th BCS exam, exams were not conducted properly under the BNP administration.

“Lists were prepared at Hawa Bhaban, and special exam arrangements were made for listed candidates in a classroom at Dhaka College to provide them with unfair advantages. We put an end to these practices after coming into power," she added.

She further questioned the conditions prevailing in Bangladesh from 2001 to 2008, implying a period of mismanagement and irregularities.

"We will take action against those who secure jobs through leaked question papers from the PSC question leak racket. In my opinion, both parties involved deserve punishment," the prime minister said.

"We are already taking action, and it will continue. I am confident that addressing irregularities will not tarnish our image," she concluded.
