The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has cancelled the admission of 169 first graders at Viqarunnisa Noon School due to non-compliance with the enrollment regulations.

According to DSHE Director General Prof Nehal Ahmed, the admission of students who enrolled at the institution in 2024 was cancelled on Wednesday following the High Court ruling.

He said: “The school administration had set the age limit for class one candidates in accordance with DSHE guidelines, but they broke the rules.”

According to the admission rules, students born before January 1, 2017, would be considered ineligible for admission to Viqarunnisa Noon School and College.

However, DSHE found that 169 students have been admitted, breaking the admission criterion as they were born in 2015 and 2016, he added.

The instruction has been sent to Viqarunnisa Noon School and College Principal Keka Roy Chowdhury.

She said that the details will be given later.
