A mobile court in Khulna fined 10 coaching centers over breaching government imposed Covid-19 guidelines on Thursday.

Ten cases were filed and the coaching authorities were fined a total of Tk16,500 during the raid by executive magistrates Debashish Basak and Sharmin Jahan Luna.

The magistrates found that the coaching centers were not adhering to the health guidelines while some of them were operating without license.

They were asked to remain closed as long as the government order was in force.

“Private coaching centers and tutorial schools continue to take in-person classes, which was hindering the purpose of the government decision. Hence, a mobile court campaign has been started from today (Thursday) to enforce the instructions,” said Executive Magistrate Debashish.

On the other hand, Tamanna Akhter, a student of Khulna Government Women's College, said that there would be no harm if they studied maintaining social distance.

A teacher, Arup, from Khulna Shantidham area said that the coaching centres were operating mainly at the request of the students and their parents maintaining social distance.
