President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Tuesday returned to Dhaka, wrapping up a four-day visit to his hometown, Pabna.
A VVIP Air Force helicopter carrying the President arrived in Dhaka at about 11:50am, President’s press secretary Md Sarwar Alam told BSS on Tuesday afternoon.
President's wife, Dr Rebeka Sultana, along with his family members and secretaries concerned to the Bangabhaban, accompanied him during the visit.
During his fourth visit to Pabna from Saturday last to Tuesday, which was the first visit after the new BNP government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, also chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), assumed office.
The head of the state, during this visit, held view exchange meetings with business leaders of Pabna district, local journalists at Pabna Press club and the judges and lawyers of Pabna district and also witnessed some development works there.
President Shahabuddin also offered a doa at Pabna’s Arifpur Central Graveyard, where his parents, other family members and relatives were laid to eternal rest.
Earlier, the divisional commissioner, officials of the divisional police and senior officials of the local administration and local distinguished personalities saw the president off at the Pabna Cadet College Ground Helipad.
