President Md Sahabuddin has arrived in his home district of Pabna on a four-day official visit.
He reached Shahid Advocate Amin Uddin Stadium in Pabna by helicopter from Bangabhaban at 12:40pm on Saturday, where he was welcomed with flowers.
The president later received a guard of honor at the Pabna Circuit House and held courtesy meetings with local political figures and prominent citizens.
This is his first visit to his home district since the formation of the BNP-led government. The district administration has taken extensive preparations, while law enforcement agencies have implemented strict security measures.
According to the itinerary signed by the president’s protocol officer Abul Kalam Md Lutfur Rahman, he will visit the central graveyard in Arifpur, Sadar upazila, at 11:10am on Sunday to pay respects at his parents’ graves. In the evening, he is scheduled to hold a discussion with journalists at the Pabna Press Club at 7pm, before returning to the Circuit House at 8:10pm.
On Monday, the president will visit Bhavanipur Mosque in Sadar upazila at 11am. In the evening, he will spend time with relatives at his city residence and return to the Circuit House at 9pm.
On Tuesday, after receiving a guard of honor at the Circuit House at 11:40am, he will depart for Dhaka by helicopter from the helipad at Pabna Cadet College at 12pm.
