Police have arrested a youth along with 1,900 pieces of contraband yaba pills from Shah Amanat Bridge area under Bakalia police station in Chittagong city.
The arrestee was Md Anwar Hossain, 24, hailing from Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar, said police sources.
Bakalia police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammed Mohsin said Anwar came to Chittagong city from Cox’s Bazar boarding a bus of Unique Paribahan and landed at Shah Amanat Bridge at around 1:30am on Wednesday.
Later police challenged the youth suspecting his movement and recovered 1,900 yaba pills from his possession which were kept inside a hand bag, added the OC.
A case was filed in this connection.
