A number of newly returned migrants from Iran complained of mistreatment by the country's military.
In addition to physical torture, the verbal abuse of the Iranian military has further injured them psychologically, according to the returnees.
Meanwhile, officials of Nimroz province said that in the last two months, out of 120,000 returned refugees from Iran, 90% of them were forcibly deported.
"We wanted to go to work when they deported us, they sent us back to the camp, where there was no food and no water and also they were cursing and beating refugees," said Waisuddin, a returnee from Iran.
“Those whose passports were expired were also deported,” said Zekrullah, a returnee from Iran.
“The police arrested us and took us to the camp with a very bad attitude, and they didn't listen to anyone or feed anyone,” said Fardin, a returnee from Iran.
The local officials of Nimroz province said that in the last two months almost 120,000 Afghan refugees returned from Iran to the country and that 90% of them were forcibly deported.
“In the last two months, nearly 120,000 of refugees returned from Iran and other countries to Afghanistan and 90% of them were forcibly deported,” said Abdullah Ryaz, the provincial head of Refugee and Repatriations of Nimroz.
TOLO news was unable to obtain comments from officials of the Iranian consulate in Kandahar.
Earlier, returnees from Iran also complained of mistreatment by the Iranian military with Afghan refugees.
