Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Phase 1 of the cutting-edge India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), known as 'Yashobhoomi,' in Dwarka, Delhi, on Sunday. This state-of-the-art facility, with a total project area exceeding 8.9 lakh square meters and a built-up area of over 1.8 lakh square meters, now ranks among the world's largest hubs for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE).
'Yashobhoomi' stands out with its magnificent convention center, multiple exhibition halls, and various amenities. The convention center, spanning more than 73,000 square meters, comprises 15 convention rooms, including a grand auditorium, a majestic ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms, accommodating a total of 11,000 delegates.
Remarkably, the convention center features the country's largest LED media facade. The plenary hall, with a seating capacity of approximately 6,000 guests, is equipped with an innovative automated seating system that can transform the flat floor into tiered seating for various configurations. Additionally, the Grand Ballroom can comfortably host around 2,500 guests, with an extended open area accommodating up to 500 people.
Spread across eight floors, the 13 meeting rooms are designed to facilitate a wide range of meetings, catering to different scales and requirements. Moreover, 'Yashobhoomi' is seamlessly connected to the Delhi Airport Metro Express line, thanks to the inauguration of the new 'Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25' metro station.
As an added bonus, the Delhi Metro has increased the operational speed of trains on the Airport Express Line, reducing travel time. The journey from 'New Delhi' to 'Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25' is now completed in approximately 21 minutes, enhancing connectivity and accessibility to this world-class convention and expo center.
