An 18-year-old girl has allegedly been raped by her neighbour, who also set her on fire after the crime in Faridpur area of Uttar Pradesh of India on Monday, reported PTI.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon when the girl was alone in her home in Khemunagla village of the Indian state.
The alleged rapist, also a neighbour of the victim, Kantu, raped her and set her on fire, said police.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital and her condition was stated to be critical.
Superintendent of Police (local) Brijesh Srivastava said that an FIR has been registered in the matter and the police is searching for the accused.
