Policymakers, economists and businessmen from Bangladesh and India will hold a meeting in the capital on Sunday.
India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) and the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Kolkata, will organise the business conclave titled 'A New Phase in Bilateral Economic Relations', reports BSS.
The major issues to be discussed in the meeting include the ways of removing trade barriers, the challenges and opportunities of the connectivity between Bangladesh and east and northeast parts of India and the bottlenecks of border trade and infrastructures.
Planning Minister AHM Mostafa Kamal, Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region, External Affairs and Overseas Indian Affairs General (Retd) VK Singh, Chief Minister of Meghalaya Dr Mukul Sangma, Commerce and Industry Minister of Tripura Tapan Chakraborty and Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pankaj Saran will attend the conclave.
Economic Affairs Adviser to Prime Minister Dr Mashiur Rahman, former foreign minister Dr Dipu Moni and lead economist of the World Bank Salman Zaidi will participate in different sessions.
Besides, there will be B2B meetings between the entrepreneurs of Bangladesh and India.
