The Border Security Force (BSF) of India has been placed on high alert along the country’s border following escalating unrest in neighbouring Bangladesh.
In response to the situation, train services, including both passenger and freight operations, toward the Bangladesh border areas had been suspended as a precautionary measure, India Today reported on Monday.
The development comes as Sheikh Hasina stepped down as prime minister and fled the country amid calls for her and her government to quit following deadly clashes across Bangladesh.
