CCTV footage of a thief bowing before an idol before stealing donation boxes of a temple in India has gone viral on social media, NDTV reported on Tuesday.
The incident took place in a temple in Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh, India, on August 5.
The viral video shows the thief, with his face covered, bowing before the idol before stealing the donation boxes and other valuables from the temple.
The police said they were now analyzing the footage to catch the thief.
"If a devotee is stealing from the abode of the God, it is not theft. A devotee will seek help from the God during difficult times," a Twitter user said.
"The thief killed two birds with one stone - kept his faith alive and carried out his business too," tweeted another.
