Right-wing political party Shiv Sena are set to contest the assembly elections in the Indian state of West Bengal.
The polls were widely seen as battle between Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress and the ruling BJP ahead of Shiv Sena’s entry, reports NDTV.
"So, here is the much-awaited update. After discussions with Party Chief Shri Uddhav Thackeray, Shivsena has decided to contest the West Bengal Assembly Elections. We are reaching Kolkata soon," MP and Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut said in a Twitter post on Sunday.
