Adani Wilmar has pulled advertisements of its Fortune Rice Bran cooking oil that feature former Indian cricket team captain and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly after his recent heart attack.
According to online portal the Quint, the advertisements drew significant flak on social media, as they claimed the oil was one that kept the heart healthy. The ads used the tagline “Dada bole welcome to the 40s.”
Ganguly underwent an angioplasty on Saturday after being admitted to a hospital in Kolkata with chest pain. The former cricketer’s condition is now stable and he is expected to be released from the hospital on Wednesday.
Many cricketers and fans have wished Ganguly a speedy recovery on social media.
