Bangladeshi girl rescued from Bangalore after being forced in prostitution

The girl was found sleeping on the footpath with bruises all over her body

A 17-year-old Bangladeshi girl was rescued from Bangalore, the capital of southern Indian state of Karnataka, after allegedly being trafficked and forced into prostitution, Bangalore Mirror reports.

According to the report, the girl was found sleeping on the footpath with bruises all over her body. She was rescued by the officials and sent to a children’s home.

The minor girl later revealed that she is from Bangladesh and was brought to India under the pretext of providing employment. She was allegedly tortured and forced into prostitution, Bangalore Mirror reported.

Based on the information provided by the girl, Bangalore police arrested five persons, including a woman, for allegedly forcing the minor into prostitution. 

The accused, identified as Kislumulla (37), Mohamada Madisa, Imran Mulla (30), his wife named Sati (25), and Bajida (30), are all Bangladeshis.

According to the police, an NGO rescued the girl from a footpath in Majestic area of the city. During questioning, the police learnt that she was brought to the city on the pretext of securing a job but was later deceived and forced into prostitution. 

Police sources suggested that the girl was brought to Bangalore a few months back.

The accused were remanded in judicial custody.
