Dublin City Councillors have decided to revoke Aung San Suu Kyi's Freedom of Dublin City award.
The BBC has confirmed the matter.
According to the BBC report, around 59 councillors backed this motion – with two against and one abstention.
Last month, musician Bob Geldof handed back his Freedom of Dublin as a form of protest against the council’s inclusion of Suu Kyi on their honours list.
Suu Kyi has been criticized for her passive role regarding the persecution of Myanmar's Rohingya population – half a million of the people have fled to Bangladesh following the recent violence that started in August.
