Mexico finds 65 lost Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan migrants

The migrants told police that they set out for the US border on April 24 from Qatar

Mexican authorities have said they found 65 migrants from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the port city of Veracruz. 

The federal Public Safety Department on Thursday said the migrants, severely dehydrated and hungry,were wandering on a highway in the Gulf coast state, reports AP.

Upon being located by federal police, the migrants gave accounts of a long and complicated trip in a bid to reach the US border.

The migrants told police that they set out for the US borderon April 24. First, they boarded a planefrom an airport in Qatar and flew to Colombia via Turkey. Then they moved through Ecuador, Panama and Guatemala.

The migrants said, after reaching Mexico, they boardedboats and travelled throughthe Coatzacoalcos River, which was strange because it is not a route for the US border.
