Indian Prime Minister Naranda Modi’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval reiterated that nothing would bring India greater happiness and satisfaction than a peaceful outcome for Ukraine and the wider region.
In a bid to promote global peace and stability, India participated in the Ukraine peace talks hosted by Saudi Arabia in the coastal city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
During the two day meeting, Doval emphasized India's consistent engagement with both Russia and Ukraine at the highest levels since the beginning of the conflict.
He said, India firmly upholds the principles enshrined in the UN Charter and international law, emphasizing the need for all states to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity without exception.
Doval also addressed the challenging situation confronting the world and particularly the Global South due to the ongoing conflict. India has been actively providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and extending economic aid to its neighbors in the Global South.
India's approach has consistently been one of promoting dialogue and diplomacy as the only path towards achieving lasting peace. The meeting recognized that multiple peace proposals have been put forward, each containing positive aspects, but none has yet been accepted by both parties.
The key focus of the talks was to find a solution that would be acceptable to all relevant stakeholders. India pledged to remain an active and willing partner in seeking a comprehensive and lasting resolution to the conflict.
