Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh has suspended two of its staff following media reports over the torture of a Bangladeshi domestic help.
The help, RunaLaila, has already been sent to Bangladesh, according to UNB.
A high-level investigation committee has been formed in this regard. Legal action will be taken and if the allegations brought against them are proved, they will be removed from their jobs, stated an official of the embassy on Sunday.
"The embassy is committed to protecting and ensuring the safety of female workers, and will follow the zero tolerance policy if any untoward incident is reported against any staff member," said Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Moshi.
The embassy, however, neither revealed the names of the two persons under the scanner, nor any details of the incidents concerning them.
