Fire in South London yard, 40 cars destroyed

A fire has destroyed 40 cars in a storage yard in Croydon in South London.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters were called to an industrial park in Peterwood Way, near Purley Way, at 2:46pm Bangladesh time after crews received almost 50 calls to the incident. London Fire Brigade says the blaze was under control by about 4pm Bangladesh time, reports BBC.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
