President M Abdul Hamid on Monday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the tragic deaths of many people in a stampede in Seoul's Itaewon, South Korea, during the Halloween celebrations on the late night of October 29.
In a condolence message sent to South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, President Hamid expressed deep anguish over the deadly Halloween crowd crush that killed at least 153 people and left many injured in Itaewon, Seoul.
"On behalf of the people of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I convey my deepest condolences to Your Excellency and to the families, relatives and friends of the deceased while wishing a speedy recovery to the injured," the message read.
