A Chinese woman filed a lawsuit against her colleague for allegedly hugging her too hard.
The woman from the Hunan province claimed that the man broke three of her ribs by hugging her too tightly, reports NDTV.
Although the rib-breaking hug took place last year, the woman filed the case with the Yunxi court recently.
She sought compensation for medical expenses and the financial loss she incurred to take time off from work.
The court ordered the man to give her 10,000 Yuan in damages.
According to the report, the man gave the woman an extremely tight hug while talking at the office.
She felt discomfort shortly after the incident which continued even after work. She took the matter lightly and relied on some home remedies instead of taking medical treatment.
She finally decided to visit a hospital for a check-up after facing the same problem in subsequent days.
The woman became shocked after an X-ray revealed that three of her ribs had broken - two on the right side and one on the left side.
The woman later took leave from work, which caused her to lose her salary while the medical expenses put an additional financial burden on her.
The man, meanwhile, denied the woman's allegations saying she has no evidence that the injury had been brought on by his cordial hug.
