The Digital Bangladesh IT Business Summit 2022 was held in India’s Tripura on Thursday.
The conference, titled “Digital Bangladesh to Smart Bangladesh”, was organized at Hotel Polo Towers in Agartala, said a press release.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb attended the event as the chief guest and the welcoming remarks were made by Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India Arif Mohammad.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak presided over the function, which was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority of the ICT Division and the Agartala High Commission.
During his speech, Palak said: “To build skilled manpower for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy established 13,000 Sheikh Russel Digital Labs at the school level, 300 Schools of Future, 43 Hi-Tech Parks, 64 Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centres.”
He also briefed the attendees on the latest developments in the IT sector of Bangladesh.
In addition, he said, Bangladesh has become a middle-income country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in only 13 years.
He mentioned that India has been a true friend to Bangladesh, even during the Covid-19 outbreak. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided 100 ambulances, Oxygen cylinders, and Covid-19 vaccines to Bangladesh when the country was in need.”
Palak mentioned the facilities provided by the government of Bangladesh for entrepreneurs in the IT sector, and encouraged IT entrepreneurs in India to invest in Bangladesh’s Hi-Tech Parks.
