In a workplace tragedy involving a Bangladeshi migrant worker, a 26-year-old man hailing from Kishoreganj died falling from an under-construction building in the Maldives.
The deceased is Md Sharif Uddin, son of Ramiz Uddin of the district's Madhyam Patdha, according to media reports.
While on duty, Sharif fell from the fifth floor of the building in the capital Male after a ceiling collapsed around 4pm (local time) on Thursday.
He was immediately rushed to a local, where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning.
Sharif's body has been kept in the morgue of the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Male while the process of sending his body back to Bangladesh is underway.
Earlier this month, two Bangladeshi workers were killed in a deadly fire that ripped through migrant lodgings in Male.
