Former army chief Abdul Fattah al-Sisi has sworn in as the new president of Egypt on Sunday afternoon.
He sworn in as the president of the country at Cairo's Constitutional Court, reports Aljazeera.
Meanwhile, security forces were deployed at important locations around the capital for the ceremony.
The former field marshal was declared the country's president after his landslide victory in the presidential election last week.
He got 96.6% of the presidential vote and beat the only other contender Hamdeen Sabahi.
Cairo prepared for the inauguration by increasing security in the area.
