A Bangladeshi man has been arrested for allegedly raping and killing a Polish woman on the Greek island of Kos.
The suspect, identified as Salauddin, 32, was arrested on Wednesday on charges of kidnapping, reports The First News.

However, subsequent investigations by authorities led to additional charges being filed against him for the killing of 27-year-old Anastazja Rubińska.
Salauddin, however, consistently denied murdering the woman, a plea he maintained in court.

Rubińska reportedly went missing on June 12 on the island of Kos, where she worked in a hotel.
Later on June 18, her body was found near a tree. Greek police suspect she was killed by strangulation.
Police also said that Salauddin's roommate helped them in the investigation.
Following the arrest, netizens are debating the issues regarding women's safety in Greece.
