Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that WhatsApp users can now modify a message within 15 minutes after sending it.
“You can now edit your WhatsApp messages up to 15 mins after they're sent!,” reads a Facebook post of Mark Zuckerberg on Monday.
In the next week, everyone will be able to use this feature.
All users have to do is long-press on a sent message and select 'Edit' from the menu for up to 15 minutes.
"You can now edit your sent messages if you make a mistake or simply change your mind," the instant messaging platform claimed.
This will assist individuals in correcting a simple typo in order to provide further context to a message.
Modified messages will display edit alongside them, so users are aware of the adjustment without showing the edit history, according to WhatsApp.
"As with all personal messages, media and calls, your messages and the edits you make are protected by end-to-end encryption," said the company.
WhatsApp unveiled a new feature called Chat Lock last week, which allows users to protect their most private conversations behind an extra layer of encryption.
