Who wants to buy Hitler’s lost toilet seat?

The unique item is estimated to fetch some $15,000, with a starting bid of $5,000

A toilet seat, reportedly used by the infamous dictator Adolf Hitler at his retreat in Bavaria of Germany, is now up for auction.

The bizarre memorabilia is expected to be sold for as high as £15,000 (around $20,500), according to Alexander Historical Auctions, which is auctioning the item.

The World War II lavatory relic is said to have been part of a loot by a US soldier from the Nazi leader's private bathroom at the Berghof retreat in the Bavarian Alps during the conflict, reports British national daily The Daily Mirror.

The item is a two-piece wooden toilet seat with lid removed by an “enterprising" GI from Adolf Hitler's bathroom at his retreat.”

It measures 19 inches, front to back and 16 inches wide, with two chromed steel fittings joining the two pieces, the report said.

According to the item listing, the toilet seat has remained untouched in the basement of the family's home.
