Top seed Shamael Chaudry of Great Britain emerged as the champion of the boys’ single event in the Bangladesh International Junior Tennis Championship at the National Tennis complex yesterday.
Shamael defeated Chen Tin of Chinese Taipei 6-4, 1-6, 7-6. Earlier on Sunday, Yan Lee of Taipei clinched the girls’ singles title.
Meanwhile in the boys’ doubles, Chinese Taipei pair Tin Chn and Chen-Shan Kuo claimed the title beating Nikshep Ballekere Ravikumar and Sahil Gaware of India 6-3, 1-6, 10-8.
Chinese Taipei won four events to top the chart while Great Britain, India and Uzbekistan won one apiece.
A total of 94 players from 22 countries took part in the tournament.
