Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited beat Sultana Kamal Pathagar 4-0 in the 4th round of the Walton Home Appliance Premier Division Chess League at the media center of Bangladesh Olympic Association yesterday.
The two Georgian Grandmasters - Mikheil Mchedlishvili and Merab Gagunashvili, GM Niaz Murshed and IM Abu Sufian Shakil won against Sheik Mohammed Khairul Islam, Nazrul Islam David, Mohammad Aminul Islam and Delwar Hossain respectively. Bangladesh Navy chess team defeated Titas Club chess team 3-1.
GM Abdullah al Rakib, GM Enamul Hossain Razib and FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed outplayed FM Mohammed Saif Uddin, FM Debaraj Chatterjee and FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Titas respectively. Shafiq Ahmed of Titas got a walk-over against IM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar who did not turn up. Mohammedan Navy and Titas Club are joint top of the table with six points following the conclusion of the 4th round.
In the other matches of the day, Fire Services & Civil Defence Sports Club beat Leonine Chess Club 2.5-1.5. Bangladesh Navy chess team (Junior) beat Dreejan Chess Club 2.5-1.5.
