Bangladesh’s Javed Ahmed and Khoy Khoy Marma swept into the final of the mixed doubles of table tennis at the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
The duo defeated their Bahrain counterparts, Rashed and Mohamed Kenda, by 3-1 sets (13-11, 7-11, 12-10, 11-3) in the semifinals to reach the gold medal battle.
They earlier confirmed Bangladesh’s second medal in the competition after beating Maldives in the quarterfinals. Weightlifter Marjia Akter Ekra had won bronze earlier as the country’s first medal.
Bangladesh mixed doubles team comprising Javed and Khoy Khoy will face Turkey in the final on Thursday night.
Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation announced a reward of Tk 50,000 for Javed and Khoy Khoy each for reaching the final and to double it if they win the gold medal.
