Bangladesh defeated Saudi Arabia in a hard-fought contest in the Asia Rugby Emirates Men Sevens Trophy 2024 in Kathmandu, Nepal Saturday.
Held at Dasarath Stadium, Bangladesh won the game by 19-14 points.
It was Bangladesh’s first win in this year’s competition that came in their last encounter in the two-day long meet.
Bangladesh lost to India 31-5 in the first match followed by a 42-24 loss to Afghanistan Friday.
In the third tie the same day, they conceded a 0-43 defeat against Chinese Taipei who eventually emerged champions.
The win over Saudi Arabia means Bangladesh finish the tournament at 13th place.
Taipei beat Philippines 27-14 in the Cup final to lift the title.
