Renowned sports organizer Rafiqul Islam Tipu breathed his last Tuesday afternoon in Dhaka. He was 65 years old.
Executive member of Bangladesh Archery Federation and former general secretary of Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation, Tipu was admitted to Azgar Ali Hospital after falling ill Monday.
A CT scan report revealed blood clots in his brain and he was later taken to life support from the intensive care unit of the hospital. He was declared dead at 3:03pm.
He left behind his mother, wife, daughter, sister, three brothers and a host of well-wishers.
His namaz-e-janaza was held in the evening in the capital's Sheikh Russel Roller Skating Complex.
