A total of 79 players from Bangladesh are set to take part in the 2023 Special Olympics World Games which will be held in Berlin, Germany from June 17 to 25.
The number in the Bangladesh contingent reached triple figure (113) including 23 coaches as they left here for Europe Monday through Qatar Airways.
Bangladesh athletes will first attend a three-day long host town program in Frankfurt before traveling to Berlin this Thursday for the opening ceremony at Berlin Olympic Stadium.
They will participate in eight sports events including women's football.
Special Olympics Bangladesh team bagged 22 gold, 10 silver and six bronze medals at the previous edition in Dubai in 2019.
