Puspita Zaman and Mohammad Ashikuzzaman duo set a new national record in the compound mixed team event at the 2023 Archery World Cup, Stage 1 which is taking place in Antalya, Turkey.
The archery pair scored a total of 1384 to finish 21st out of 26 teams, and broke the old record of 1382 set by Mithu Rahman and Sushmita Banik at the National Archery Championships in 2019.
In the qualification round of men's compound singles section, Ashikuzzaman scored 701 out of 720 to emerge 46th out of 86 participants, while Puspita posted 683 to be placed 48th out of 65 in the women's event.
The elimination round of compound division will be held Thursday.
