Bangladesh to contest bronze medal match Friday

Bangladesh will lock horns with Korea in the bronze medal match in the recurve men’s team event of the Archery World Cup 2019, stage two.

The Bangladesh team, comprising Mohammad Hakim Ahmed Rubel, Mohammad Ruman Shana and Mohammad Tamimul Islam got beaten in the semi-final by 5-3 set points by Turkey.

Prior to that, Bangladesh beat India by 5-1 set points in the quarter-final and the Netherlands by 5-3 set points in the 1/8 round.

Meanwhile, it was a disappointing third day for Bangladesh as both Hakim and Shana lost their respective matches.

In the 1/16 elimination round of the recurve men’s singles, Hakim lost by 7-3 set points to Korea’s Lee Seungyun, while Ruman lost to the Netherlands’ Van den Berg Sjef by 6-4 set points.
