Border Guard Bangladesh and Bangladesh Ansar clinched the Independence Day Judo Tournament, organised by Bangladesh Judo Federation, in the men’s and women’s category respectively.
Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratishthan finished as the runners-up in both the events.
In the men’s category, BGB finished with six gold medals and three silvers while in the women’s event, Ansar bagged five golds, four silvers and a bronze.
BKSP men’s team notched one gold and four bronzes while their women’s side took home two golds, as many silvers and three bronzes.
The day-long competition was inaugurated by BJF vice president Syeda Jannat Ara while general secretary AKM Selim was also present among others.
A total of 52 men and 38 women players from five teams – BGB, Bangladesh Police, Ansar, VDP and BKSP – took part in the tournament.
