Dhaka half-marathon takes place

Dhaka Half Marathon 2019, an athletic competition was arranged on 15 March with Dhaka Run Lords organising this event. 

It consisted of two parts, half-marathon (21.1 KM) and mini-marathon (7 KM).  

In the half-marathon men’s category, first, second and third were awarded respectively to: Mahfuzul Haque, Mahbubur Rahman and Md Sajjad Hossain.

In the half-marathon women’s category, first, second and third were awarded respectively to Jane Crowder, Lisa Petzal and Lina Lee.

In the mini-marathon men’s category, first, second and third were awarded respectively to Mir Rasel, Probhat Choudhury and Sohel Rana Sohan.

In the mini-marathon women’s category, first, second and third were awarded respectively to Mariana Ignat Cristina,Neda Sakib and Anisa Tasmia Karim.

More than 1200 participants took part in the half marathon and mini marathon with event participants starting their run from Hatirjheel Police Plaza. 

They ran across Hatirjheel Expressway three times to complete their targeted 21.1 KM. The allocated time for this challenge was 3 hours 30 minutes. 

Mini -marathon started fifteen minutes after half-marathon. 

The participants of this challenge ran through Hatirjheel Expressway once to complete their 7km run. 

The time allocated for this part was 1 hour.

The event was sponsored by Nido from Nestle Bangladesh Ltd; co-sponsor Sprint from Apex Footwear Ltd, and Gold Sponsors Gloria Jean’s Coffee, Saffola and Polar Ice cream.

The event was co-organized by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation. 

Community support for the event was provided by BDRunners. 

Supporting Partners were Garmin, Radio Spice 96.4 as the official radio partner while food partner was Spice Catering and hydration partner was Isotoniks.
