They then faced Nepal in the first quarter-final in the afternoon. The home side outplayed their south Asian neighbour 6-3 to reach the semis. After the first half ended 4-0 in favour of Bangladesh, Nepal tried to stage a comeback with three straight goals in the second half but it was too little, too late. Hridoy Hasan continued his amazing form and once again became the highest scorer in both the matches on Tuesday. The 15-year old scored six goals against Taipei in the pre-quarters before adding three against Nepal. Shohag and Arafat scored two and one apiece for the home side to help register their fifth consecutive win in the event.
