Russel Mahmud Jimmy and three other national players will be called up by the National Selection Committee within a few days to demonstrate their fitness level.
Head coach Mamunur Rashid said the committee is awaiting instructions from the federation. “After receiving instructions, the selection committee will start the procedure. The players will be given about a week’s time to get prepared. After that they will appear before the committee. If they require more time to attain their fitness we will provide them special programmes.”
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Hockey Federation yesterday selected 13 players for the second round of the upcoming Hockey World League. The players are - Mamunur Rahman Chayan, Rokonuzzaman Shohag, Krishna Kumar Das, Hasan Jubair Niloy, Pushkor Khisa Mimo, Irfanul Haque, Abdullah al Monsur, Taposh Barman, Rimon Kumar Ghosh, Sheikh Mohammed Nannu, Shamim Mia, Monowar Hossain Russel (GK) and Sajibur Rahman (GK).
