A 21-member Indian select hockey team comprising 18 players arrives in Dhaka tomorrow to play three practice matches with the Bangladesh hockey team currently preparing for the Asian Games.
The team will be led by midfielder Vikramkanth who has played 70 international matches for India. The team also includes Yuvraj Walmiki with 44 international caps, Kushallappa Uthappa with 54 international caps and Nithin Thimmiah who has played 36 matches wearing the Indian jersey. Tushar Khadker, a familiar name in Bangladesh’s hockey arena, is the coach of the visiting team.
All the three matches will be played on 6th August, 7th August and 8th August at BKSP where Bangladesh team is based for its residential camp.
It is worth mentioning here in this regard that this is the first time any Indian team will be arriving in Bangladesh after accepting the invitation of the Bangladesh Hockey Federation.
